Consortium Meeting Highlights (11–12 June 2026)

Last week, the DECODE consortium gathered online for two half days of insightful discussions and exciting progress updates.
DECODE aims to create and demonstrate a decentralised and adaptable “future lab” concept, connecting multiple laboratories through a single platform to accelerate the development of clean energy materials and technologies. Initially focused on hydrogen technologies, the platform is designed for broader applications across clean tech, from energy storage to water technologies and sustainable fuels.

Key focus areas of the meeting:

  • WP3: Developing the DECODE Cloud Platform: advancing the core digital infrastructure that connects modelling and characterisation tools into the DECODE FABRIC.
  • WP4: Demonstration, Validation & Optimisation: preparing the platform’s real-world validation on water electrolysis and hydrogen fuel cell technologies, including parallel experimental and modelling workflows to evaluate new catalyst layer materials such as hydrocarbon-based ionomers.

We also discussed the organisation of upcoming dissemination activities, with several exciting initiatives in the pipeline for the coming months… stay tuned! 📣

As we move forward, we are proud to be entering the final phase of our four-year journey, with the project set to run until November 2027. The coming months will be crucial in realising the full potential of the DECODE decentralised lab platform and its ability to accelerate clean energy innovation.

A big thank you to all partners for their continued engagement and collaboration!
